I’ve written dozens of jingles over the years, almost always set to music by Ukie Hart, a gifted composer. Here are a few.
I wrote a song for Oklahoma National Bank and Trust Company about Oklahoma and the Oklahoma spirit.
I wrote a jingle for Braums Ice Cream, but they didn’t appreciate it. So I rewrote it for Farm Fresh. Strangely enough, it became kind of a cult thing in the Oklahoma Metro area.
I wrote a jingle for Nocona Boots ‘way back when and Bill Caswell set it to music. I thought it would really appeal to the heart of their market — cowboys, riders, just about anyone who wore boots. Nocona, however, decided to go in another direction. Anyway, here it is.
Mike Williams called me one day. Wanted to talk about the initiative to bring parimutuel into Oklahoma. He said I want a jingle like the American Airlines one that’s running now. Theme: Let’s race. Here’s the result. By the way, I sang most of these jingles, too.
I wrote this one for Sonic, back when i was doing some work for them through another agency. I gave them “America’s Favorite Drive-in,” and wrote this as a jingle for a television spot that could be used all across America, customized with local shots. They didn’t buy it. Oh, the humanity.
I was asked to write a jingle for Union Bank of Bartlesville. I did, produced it, they ran it, and it became the number one song on Bartlesville radio for about 30 weeks. Wow.
Bill Roberts, a great PR Director (when he wasn’t setting his trash can on fire with a not-quite-out cigarette), asked me to write a jingle for the Rural Electric Cooperatives. Voila.
I thought Oklahoma National Bank and Trust needed a Christmas spot, so I wrote one.
This is just a smallish sample, but it will give you an idea.
